BENGALURU, SEPTEMBER 12 (KARNATAKA INFORMATION):
Karnataka has sought additional forces from the Union Government, as a precautionary measure.
The Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah spoke to the Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh late this evening and apprised him about the situation in the State, after incidents of assaults on Kannadigas and attacks on vehicles having Karnataka Registration in Tamil Nadu this morning.
Though the situation is fully under control, the Chief Minister said, in view of the Festivals of Bakrid, Onam and Sri Anantha Padmanabha Swamy Chaturdashi – the last day for immersion of Ganesha Idols, the State requires additional forces to take up necessary precautionary measures.
The Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh responded positively to the request of the Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, says an official press release.
